Find a Project to Keep You Busy

Build With Arduino and Our Block Coding App

At the Lift & Shift Foundation, we believe making things is more than just a hobby. Tools like 3D printing, Tinkercad, and Arduino can also be a powerful tool to relax, play, learn, and bring people together.

Bluetooth Claw Bot

Check out this mulitfaceted project if you have some time on your hands. It makes use of motors, servos, and bluetooth, all run with a standard Arduino. And our Creative Technologist intern, Maksim, put all the details here for you.

High School Internships at Lift & Shift

Our high school internships are a great way to get hands-on experience with the latest technology. Intern roles are divided into two categories: science and tech.

Our featured internship role is a Web Design intern. This role is perfect for students who are interested in learning how to design and build websites. Our web design team has been building the apps available here - a block coding app and a 3D modeling CAD app. Find the application for our Web Design internship hosted by our partner HighschoolHires.

As of the summer '24 conclusion, our Web Design interns have contributed over 3,500 lines of code to our website mainly using Javascript. In addition to the website contributions through our GitHub repo, they've undertaken some projects to help us expand our capacity as a nonprofit. That includes initial development of an app to help our research team use social media.

Creative Technologist Intern is another tech based role for students. These interns are free to independently develop and explore facets of engineering and design, including robots, Arduinos, 3D printing, and other cool tech projects.

Support Our Mission

Our mission is to support more inclusive STEM fields, by providing programs for veterans and hands on access to high school students.
