Interactive Design Software
Our interns helped design our browser based software for creativity and learning. Try your hand at programming with no code by snapping blocks together like LEGO® bricks. Or hop in our free CAD software and virtually create designs while building your 3D modeling skills. You can explore a collection of inspiring projects created by our community.
Advancing Recreational Therapy
Dive into our research and findings aimed at improving recreational therapy through science and technology. Apply our research to your everyday life. Or pitch in and join us as an intern.
High School Internships at Lift & Shift
Our internships for high school students are a great way to get hands-on experience with the latest technology. Intern roles are divided into two categories: science and tech.
Our tech internship roles include Web Design intern and Creative Technologist. These roles are perfect for students who are interested in learning how to design software options, Arduino based electronics projects, and get into 3D printing. This year so far, our Web Design team has been building the website software here - a block coding app and a 3D modeling CAD app.
We are also looking for interns to help with our Creative Tech projects. This role is perfect for students who are interested in learning how to build Arduino controlled robots and other beginner projects. This year so far, our Creative Tech team has been building a Arduino Mobile Claw Bot and a 3D printed robot arm. Learn more on the projects page.
Meanwhile, our science internship roles include Research Assistants and Science Ambassadors. These roles are perfect for students who are interested in learning how to conduct research and analyze data, communicate scientific results, and share Lift & Shift work on social media. Dig in to their work on the research page.
Our Research team has been focused on studying the field of recreational therapy, and their findings are being used to guide the programs we offer. Our Science Ambassasors have been supporting legislative advocacy on a number of issues that cover the crossroads of veterans, science, and research, such as veterans' exposure to environmental toxins while they serve and the impact on their families.
We strive to make our internships inclusive. If you're interested in applying, please dig into the projects or research pages here for more information. High school internship applications are hosted by HighschoolHires, our partner. They're focused on leveling the college application process for economically disadvantaged students. By providing free access to quality opportunities for high school students, they can build experience that will help them with competitive college applications.
